Elio's School, Champville Marist College

“ It is with deep sadness that Champville Marist College announces the passing of our former student Elio Abou Hanna, a current member of the scout group.

His brutal departure breaks our hearts...

His life was cut short by a criminal bullet.

He will forever be remembered as a gentle young man with a comforting smile, a loyal friend whose presence brought peace and unity.

In every gesture of brotherhood, in every look of shared joy, Elio shone with the light of a simple and beautiful soul, always turned toward others.

To his friends, to all the Scouts and Routiers, and even more so to his grieving family, so dignified and loving, the College expresses its sincere condolences and joins them in prayer and affection.

May the Lord welcome Elio into his infinite tenderness. He has just passed to the other side, where peace knows no end.

Rest in peace, Elio.

Elio's Master Thesis Professor at USEK

"With a heart filled with sadness and grief, I mourn our dear student Elio from the Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK) family, who was unjustly taken away by a treacherous weapon while in the prime of his youth. He graduated with sincere effort and rare determination. I supervised his research project for his Master's Degree and he graduated in June 2025!

I knew him as a bright, well-mannered student who loved learning, was dedicated to his work, and never tired. He had a great dream of serving his community, but the hand of treachery reached out to him for no reason and without fault.

Elio left us too soon, but his impact will remain in the hearts of all who knew him, his professors and classmates, in every idea we discussed together, and in every step he took towards science, honesty, and humanity.

We hope that God inspires the Lebanese state to take decisive action in withdrawing the historically present, uncontrolled weapon of betrayal that has never protect its bearer and never will!

May God have mercy on you, Elio."

Professor Joseph Saab, Director of USEK Laboratories

Remembering Elio Abou Hanna

To Elio, a shining light snatched away by injustice.

His soothing smile, his heart always turned toward others —nothing justifies a criminal bullet stealing his future.

The pain that breaks his parents, his sister, his friends, is even more bitter when the State, powerless or complicit, imposes its sovereignty only on the innocent, allowing impunity to reign and crime to triumph.

Elio, you deserved to live, not to become a symbol of inequality in the face of protection and the law.

Your departure is a cruel reminder that, too often, it is young people, full of promise, who pay the price for neglect.

May your gentle soul rest in peace, far from this cowardly world.

May your family find the strength to carry on, supported by our affection. And may justice finally be done one day, not just in words, but in deeds that honor your memory.

Elie El Khoury

A smile, a presence, kindness... that was you, Elio...

You remained faithful to your principles, your dreams, and above all, to the Marist spirit.

Your life, though short, was a seed of kindness and love that continues to bear fruit among us.

With love, hope and faith, we entrust you to heaven.

Become our angel.

Protect the school that you loved so much.

In these particularly painful moments, I would like to offer my sincere condolences to your parents, your sister Maria, and the entire Marist family.

May your soul res in eternal peace with the angels.
